hi. i’m the how machine

A man with a beard and a bald head, wearing a brown leather jacket and a red tartan kilt, appears to be splitting the image in half, with one side showing him lying on a concrete bench and the other side showing him standing, holding a briefcase with the word 'Obey' on it, in an outdoor park area with trees and a fence in the background.

La Historia de Howie:

This series explores the creation of the artist known as the how machine.

  • Each painting was done in one sitting from start to finish in order to capture the raw emotion that I experienced. There was no editing and no second version. I attempted to capture as many emotions as possible without any planning or forethought.

  • I used many mediums: charcoal, gouache, watercolor, pastel, pen and acrylic in almost every single painting.

  • The images tell a story or a boy born out of narcissism. Having “failed” with her first child, the woman sought to create a beautiful pale white offspring to counterbalance the dark daughter. He was raised in a physically and psychologically abusive household under the loving guise of a religious extremist cult which caused long lasting trauma. Now that the child no longer serves a purpose the child has been severed from the family. All of the images show my disdain, disappointment, and disgust for the ones related to me.

Portraits of Stress: A life with C-PTSD

This series of portraits depicts my life in decades. Each image attempts to explain my psychological state as I battled with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of my diagnosed Religious Trauma Syndrome.

Free Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is the oldest colony on the planet. My country is still owned by the United States and I will probably die before I ever see my country free.
