artist statement: My name is Howie Bellido. I am the how machine. I am a result of my own actions in a world I have created within the banal existence of humanity. and I love fashion.

i am a modern expressionist with surrealist tendencies. An experimental artist that is forever searching for new challenges within myself

WHO

I paint intuitively and often incorporate chance and Dada techniques. I also allow the medium I am using to dictate the style in which the artwork is created.

how

I live my life in an avant garde manner and that is reflected in my work. I create because I see no other purpose to my life. I am an existentialist, an optimistic nihilist, and a staunch atheist. I see no other purpose or reason for existing other that what I crave in that moment and this is reflected in the diversity of my work and subject matter. I also daily deal with the repercussions of childhood psychological and physical abuse that resulted from being raised in a fundamentalist cult.
